The purpose of this site is to assist the railroad modeler in detailing their passenger cars. I model in S scale , so the information is geared towards S, but hopefully modelers in other scales will find information they can use.
The photo above shows the Mount Vernon. This car was built by Budd for the Union Pacific in 1952 as "Pacific Island". It currently resides at the Whippany Railroad Museum in Whippany, New Jersey although a week after seeing it there we crossed paths again in Ocononomowoc, Wisconsin where it was bringing up the markers of Amtrak's eastbound Empire Builder.
