King Cotton is a Plan 4099 car containing six Sections, six Roomettes four Double Bedrooms. It was originally built for the Illinois Central by Pullman in 1942 as one of 12 cars in Lot 6669 for service on the Panama Limited. It had a Waukesha Ice Engine air conditioner, and it rode on 41-HR trucks. Note that it still retains the curved battterybox designed to blend in with the full skirting it had when built. It currently resides at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois.
